Waterjet

Aluminum bow riser cut from extrusion.

Serving Marinette, Menominee, Iron Mountain, Rhinelander, Wausau, Oconto and Green Bay as well as all parts in between, let us show you how we can help increase your productivity and cost effectiveness.

Omax Fabricator Abrasive Waterjet

Speeds and therefore costs for cutting aluminum with the waterjet are similar to laser cutting, but our waterjet can cut up to 9″ thick where even a 4500 watt laser is limited to 1/2″ thick aluminum. The edge quality of the waterjet cut aluminum is very similar to the laser cut edge. It may be time to try waterjet cutting for your next aluminum project.

The abrasive waterjet is also ideal where a heat affected zone “HAZ” on the edge is not desirable, or where special materials need to be processed. Brass, copper, titanium, tool steels, and any materials thicker than 1″ that a laser can’t handle, or a plasma cut edge is not desirable. The waterjet cut parts may be a cost effective alternative to machining your parts.

Having 3 axis motion control also opens a whole range of applications. Think about cutting a riser for a hunting bow from an aluminum extrusion blank. Where could this capability be used in your world?

Our abrasive waterjet cutting service delivers cost effective quality and speed for your projects. The waterjet process works wonderfully for blanking thick material parts to be finish machined.

One of the largest waterjets in NE Wisconsin, our Omax Fabricator has a cutting envelope of 83″ x 146″.  While it is a large bed machine, it still can easily hold tolerances to +-0.005.
